The in-home spending on fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in the Philippines continued to decline in the past two years. In the first quarter of 2021, the FMCG sector contracted by -10.2 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. While this was lower than the contraction recorded at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic during the second quarter of 2020, this is a notable decline from the growth rate at the end of that year.
