In 2017, the highest share of overweight children in the Middle East was in Syria at 17.9 percent, followed by Lebanon at 16.7 percent. The malnutrition indicators of stunting, wasting, and underweight for children are worse in countries with conflict, and countries with lower levels of rural transformation. The share of overweight children in the Middle East and North Africa was generally low or very low.
