In 2019, there were 18 cases of paralytic polio cases in Nigeria, including the wild and vaccine type of poliovirus.
Polio in Nigeria is no longer endemic. The country has not reported cases of wild poliovirus since July 2014. The only countries in the world in which Polio is still an endemic are Pakistan and Afghanistan.
