Home price index for the Tokyo Metropolitan Area in Japan from 2014 to 2022
The JREI Price Index measures the changes in home prices with January 2000 as the base (Jan 2000=100).
According to the source, the composite index is a weighted average of the JREI Home Price Indices of Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama
Prefectures. The aggregate value of all existing condominium units of each prefecture is used as the weight.
Moreover, the aggregate value of all existing condominium units is calculated by multiplying the number of existing condominium units taken from the government's Housing and Land Survey by their average price based on sales data from the Real Estate Information Network for East Japan.
