According to data gathered on August 20, 2020, 19 percent of movies available to watch on Netflix were released in the last year, and 31 percent of films on the platform came out between 2017 and 2018. Hulu's share of newer releases was close to that of Netflix, whereas for most other services, the vast majority of films in their catalog were older and had been released pre-2011. As Apple TV+ only launched in November 2019 and has a content library comprised of originals only, 100 percent of films available on the platform had been released in the last year.
