The total production of glass in the European Union (EU-27 + UK) increased from 31.6 million metric tons in 2013 to a high of 40.19 million metric tons in 2022, and decreased to 36.93 in 2023. EU glass production has been in the range of 30 to 40.2 million metric tons per year since 2004.
The largest category of glass produced in the EU is flat glass.
