According to a survey conducted in 2019, the large majority of respondents in Italy never reported an illegal online behavior such as cyberattack, online harassment, or bullying. Only eight percent of interviewees declared to have made a report to the police or other authorities.

"All interviews were conducted face-to-face in people's homes and in the appropriate national language. As far as the data capture is concerned, CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interview) was used in those countries where this technique was available."
