In 2018, one out of five people has high blood pressure in Belgium. During this year, the share of Belgians aged 65 and older who had high blood pressure was ten times bigger than Belgians aged 18 to 39 years old. Worldwide, high blood pressure is responsible for millions of deaths per year. Indeed, coronary diseases and cerebrovascular accidents are notably associated with high blood pressure.
