In 2020, 47 percent of respondents 65 years of age and older from the United Kingdom slightly agreed that they read ingredients on a pack of food before buying it compared to 27 percent of respondents between 18 and 24 years of age. A combined 64 percent of respondents 65 years of age and older agreed overall (combined numbers of respondents in the age group that strongly and slightly agree).
