A survey conducted in 2019 investigated the distribution of employees who could work from home across Italian macro-regions. More than half of the respondents were located in the North-West, while the lowest percentage was recorded in the South and the Islands, where only seven percent of Italian home office employees resided. More specifically, data refer to employees who can work outside of their company's offices.
