The global demand for pure hydrogen amounted to approximately 18.2 metric tons in 1975. By the beginning of the new century, this figure increased to some 52.5 metric tons. Estimated figures indicated that in 2018, there was a peak of 73.9 metric tons of pure hydrogen demand worldwide.
