Revenue in the video gaming industry reaches into the billions of U.S. dollars worldwide every year and is forecast to grow even further in the coming years. Despite this optimistic outlook, a May 2019 survey suggested that there were fears within the industry that there were certain challenges ahead. Among the gaming executives surveyed, 23 percent strongly agreed with the sentiment that the technical talent shortage within video game companies would grow worse over the next five years.
