The largest share of children who only worked and did not go to school was registered in South Sudan. Between 2005 and 2016, about 35 percent of children in South Sudan had to work and could not attend any school. The majority of child workers were found worldwide in Sub-Saharan countries. Among the 20 countries with the highest shares of child workers, there were 19 Sub-Saharan countries and Pakistan. Nevertheless, figures are not fully comparable across the countries as the methodologies may differ.
