The voting on constitutional amendments in Russia took place between June 25 and July 1, 2020. Polling stations were open on each of these days, while the last day of the plebiscite was announced a public holiday in the country. Nearly 67 percent Russians took part in it. Prior to the voting, over 70 percent of Russians planned to participate.
Furthermore, inhabitants of two federal subjects, the city of Moscow and the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, had an opportunity to cash their ballot online until June 30, 2020, under the condition that they registered for the voting in advance. The turnout at the online voting was measured at approximately 93 percent. The voting, originally planned to take place in April 2020, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
