A flexitarian diet is centered around plant foods, alike a vegetarian diet, yet still allows for the occasional animal product consumption. In 2019, 72 percent of children between the ages of 5 and 18 whose parents were on a flexitarian diet reduced or stopped eating red meat. Conversely, 71 percent of them maintained or increased the amount of cheese they were consuming.
