According to a survey on online shopping behavior in Taiwan conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2022, about 39 percent of the respondents aged between 45 and 54 years said they had made online purchases at least once a week. The same survey found that about 31 percent of respondents above 55 years old shopped at least once a week online.

The survey was conducted among 1,807 respondents aged between 16 and 24 years, 3,458 respondents aged between 25 and 34 years, 3,581 respondents aged between 35 and 44 years, 1,887 respondents aged between 45 and 54 years, and 833 respondents aged above 55 years.
