Latin American respondents believe that having childcare responsibilities can more likely damage a woman's career, compared to a man's. According to a survey carried out in January 2020, 48 percent of respondents in Chile thought taking care of children would harm a woman's career, but only five percent believed it would damage a man's career.

The source worded the question as follows : "Please say whether you think each of the following is more likely to damage the career of a woman who does this, more likely to damage the career of a man who does this, whether they are equally likely to damage the career of men and women who do this: Having childcare responsibilities during the working day".
Regarding missing percentage points to 100 percent the source states: "Where results do not sum to 100, this may be due to computer rounding, multiple responses or the exclusion of don't knows or not stated responses".
