Between January 2017 and May 2019, officials representing U.S. oil and gas companies accounted for a 33.1 percent share of the meetings with U.S. Interior Department officials, out of the 679 meetings that were held during that period of time. On the other hand, representatives from the U.S. renewable energy sector met with Interior Department officials only 22 times, or 3.2 percent of the meetings.
