According to a survey from 2018, 16 percent of young people of Danish origin felt discriminated on the basis of their gender. In comparison, the highest share of respondents of non-Western origin, 37 percent, experienced discrimination because of their ethnicity. Furthermore, 17 percent of the respondents in this group felt discriminated based on their religion.

The number of respondents were as follows:
Respondents of non-Western origin = 739
Respondents of Danish origin = 859
Respondents of other Western origin = 797
The survey was conducted in eight different languages: Danish, English, Arabic, Somali, Turkish, Farsi/Persian, Serbo-Croatian and Urdu.
