As per the results of a large scale survey in 2019, majority of the Indian respondents who regularly tracked their ECG heart rates had a body mass index that was above or below normal. However, around 43 percent of respondents with normal body mass index levels also stated to track their heart rates periodically.

According to source, weight categories were classified by body mass index as follows-
Underweight: less than 18.5
Normal: 18.5 to 24.9
Overweight: 25 to 29.9
