According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on panic buying after the coronavirus outbreak, 48 percent of Indian respondents aged 55 and above stated that they did not stock up on items because it was not socially responsible to hoard food and essential items. In the same survey, 61 percent of respondents indicated that they had not engaged in panic buying because of the coronavirus pandemic, while 39 percent of respondents did.
