According to a survey among young Chinese directors, about 71 percent of respondents agreed that compared to other countries, China enjoyed a large audience base, which provided opportunities for all kinds of films and TV series. The fast-growing economy in China was another advantage for developing the film industry, claimed by 66 percent of the respondents.

The survey was conducted among young directors who:
1) were born between 1979 to 1999
2) directed at least a feature film or a TV series or two award-winning short films
3) have at least one work that has been played on a public platform or scheduled to be played.
4) currently work as directors.
