The money supply (M1) in Norway increased significantly since the start of 2020. The supply jumped from around 2.18 trillion Norwegian kroner in February 2020, to around 2.84 trillion Norwegian kroner in May 2023.The money supply is the amount of monetary assets available in an economy. M1, called the "narrow money", includes currency in circulation (banknotes and coins) and overnight deposits. It depicts the value of the most liquid components of the money supply.
