Medal count by country in the Men's 110m Hurdles at the Summer Olympics 1896-2020

The Men's 110 meter Hurdles has been dominated by the United States since it was introduced in the inaugural Games in 1896. Athletes from the U.S. have won 57 out of 84 medals in total, and 19 out of 29 gold medals; excluding the 1980 Games in Moscow (which the US boycotted) 2016 was the first time in Olympic history where a U.S. athlete did not make the podium in this event. The US has swept the podium on eight occasions, all between 1900 and 1960. China, who ranks fourth in the overall medal table, won their first ever gold medal in an athletics event with Liu Xiang's victory in the 110m Hurdles in 2004, and his time remains the Olympic record. No athlete has ever been stripped of a medal won in this event.
