In December 2021, gasoline sales in Brazil surpassed four million cubic meters, the highest monthly figure recorded in the indicated period. In contrast, diesel sales in the South American country saw a downward trend during the second half of that year.
In April 2020, fuel sales in Brazil had plummeted, as vehicle traffic in the country was severely reduced due to lockdown measures implemented in an attempt to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since, however, sales have in general returned to their pre-pandemic levels.
