In 2020, most of Brazil's land area was occupied by forests. A total of 3.72 million square kilometers were so classified, although the area covered by forests in the country has been decreasing since 2000. In the displayed period, forest cover in Brazil decreased by nearly eight percent.
Countryside vegetation is the second most predominant type of land in the South American country, with nearly 1.63 million square kilometers in 2020.
