The highest ratio for male patients was for the age group between 50 to 59 years, also 13 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants of this age group and gender.

The source calculated the proportion of cases by normalizing the number of total inhabitants of each gender age group to 100,000.
The calculations are based on the data of 9,852 people with COVID-19 infection reported on April 17, 2020 as well as the estimate of population in Japan as of October 1, 2019.
