Vuelta a España ranking table 1935-2019, by nation

From 1935 to 2019, Spain won the Vuelta a España 33 times, ranking second 50 times and third 39 times. As of the survey period, France and Belgium were next in the ranking, winning the Vuelta nine times and seven times, respectively. The Vuelta a España is a renowned bicycle race organized in Spain since 1935. Alongside with the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia, it is part of the so-called Grand Tours, some of the most important cycling races worldwide. Traditionally, the race finishes in Madrid, but the route changes annually. Occasionally, the Vuelta starts and passes through international countries, too. In 2020, the 75th edition of the Vuelta was supposed to start in Utrecht, Netherlands, on August 14. However, due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the race has been postponed to autumn 2020.
