In mid-March 2020, during the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, consumers in the United States were asked how they feel about brand communications at such time. More than half of respondents said they were pleased that brands were contributing to the fight against the epidemic by making various donations. Most wanted to hear from brands in that time, while only 15 percent were not interested in receiving news from brands.
