As of April 2020, 65 percent of Canadians who had lost their job during the COVID-19 pandemic told Angus Reid that they could not manage any unexpected expenses, whereas only ten percent of those not anticipating job loss said the same. The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in supply chain disruptions, job losses, stock market dips, and increased the risk of recession worldwide.
