Streaming platform use due to coronavirus lockdown in Spain March 2020
On March 14, 2020, the Pedro Sánchez government decreed the state of alarm in Spain following the wide spread of COVID-19 in the country. Given the circumstances, Spaniards were required to remain in their homes with only a few exceptions. This isolation prompted an increase in consumption of streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime or HBO, especially during the morning. As can be seen in this statistic, streaming platform use increase by 60 percent during the earlier time of the day as of March 29, 2020.
