Professional women's tennis is run by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). The top female players in the world compete in a WTA Tour which includes four Grand Slam tournaments, 20 premier tournaments, and one year-ending WTA Tour Championships. In a survey conducted in September 2021 in the United States, nine percent of respondents aged 35 to 44 stated that they were avid fans of the WTA Tour.
