Green bonds are fixed income securities which finance investments with environmental or climate-related benefits. In the nine months to September 2020, the new issuers on the green bonds market in Europe issued a total of 42 green bonds. Only four of the bonds issued were certified. Non-financial corporates issuing the highest number of both green bonds, with 16 for the period.
