According to a survey conducted among primary grocery shoppers in the United States between March 13 and 15, 2020, 37 percent of respondents reported going to a different retailer when household essentials were out of stock due to the coronavirus pandemic. Alternatively, some 14 percent of respondents stated they ordered the products they needed from an online retailer whenever an item they needed was recently unavailable at the store.
