In the last week of February 2020, Colombia saw a growth of 82 percent in sales of over-the-counter drugs in reaction to the COVID-19 outbreak, caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Moreover, sales of supplements and vitamins also increased by 43 and 33 percent, respectively. Up until that date, there were no registered cases of COVID-19 in the South American country.
