The vast majority of consumers surveyed in Belgium in 2019 indicated that when they purchased organic products they tended to do so at supermarkets. Three quarters of survey respondents indicated that they purchased organic produce at supermarkets in 2019, while the share of respondents who bought organic goods at local markets was just over 20 percent.
