Distribution of grocery sales in Europe in 2018 as well as a forecast for 2023 show that the supermarkets were the main channel for sales with 41 and 38 percent, respectively. Furthermore, in 2018, hypermarkets and discount stores ranked second with an equal share of 23 percent.
