According to a survey conducted in November 2019, approximately 24.6 percent of surveyed Japanese citizens thought that refugees and people in need of humanitarian care should be accepted more cautiously by Japan from now on, while an additional 32.3 percent also pleaded for rather cautious measures. This added up to a majority of almost 57 percent.
