Great Britain: revenue of Aldi Süd 2015-2019
Aldi is a family-owned discount supermarket chain which operates in multiple countries worldwide. The company is split into Aldi Süd and Aldi Nord, which operate in different countries and have split the German market in a northern part (in which Aldi Nord operates) and a southern part (in which Aldi Süd operates). The company split over the question about whether or not cigarettes and tobacco products should be sold by the discounter. In the 1960s, Karl Albrecht, the owner of Aldi Süd, decided against selling cigarettes in his stores.
