A survey from 2019/2020 found that almost 60 percent of the Finnish people used TV to watch Netflix at home, while the use of computer, phone or tablet remained below 20 percent. TV streaming was also more popular in the use of other online viewing services (Yle Areena, Mtv-palvelu/CMore, Ruutu & Ruutu+). Meanwhile, over 70 percent of the people watched YouTube on their phone or computer, and only ten percent used TV for streaming YouTube. Tablets were not so commonly used for watching online TV and video on demand services at home.

"The peoplemeter approach is a continuous 24-hour measurement of in-home viewing from a long term panel of households, which is equipped with metering devices to monitor changes in set status and viewer appearance. The meter uses a remote control, with each member of the family having his or her own push button on the remote control. A meter is installed to each TV set in the household."
"TV-viewing on all channels, online-viewing (vod + simulcast) to tagged players (Yle Areena-, Mtv-palvelu/C More and Ruutu/Ruutu+) was monitored. Netflix, YT ja HBO viewing was measured in in-home wifi only."
