About 15.8 million people in Germany were willing to spend a lot of money on books in 2020. Figures have been steadily decreasing since 2015. In 2015, 17.3 million people were willing to spend more on books. The number of book buyers in Germany has also been decreasing in recent years.

2019: 23,318 respondents, projection to 70.60 million people
2020: 23,191 respondents, projection to 70.64 million people
