In August 2021, the confidence index in the manufacturing sector in Italy stood at 113.4. Compared to the previous months, the confidence climate experienced an increase.
Italy's economy has been seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a consequence of the rising number of cases, on March 9, the Italian government announced that the country is in lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus. On May 4, Italy started easing its coronavirus lockdown. However, a second wave of infections hit the country after summer 2020, inevitably leading to the introduction of new measures.
