Health research funding in the United Kingdom (UK) was mainly concentrated in the south and east of the country in 2018. London accounted for 31.8 percent of the health research expenditure in the UK in 2018, more than double the expenditure share of any other region. The South East accounted for 14.9 percent of UK health research in this year, while 14.3 percent of health research funding was in the East of England.
