In 2022 approximately 1.24 million new students enrolled in different master’s and doctor’s degree programs at public colleges, universities, and research institutes in China. Of these students, around 1.1 million enrolled in master's degree programs, whereas 139 thousand enrolled in doctorate programs. While around 394,090 master students began studying engineering programs that year, only 30 enrolled in military science.
