This survey questions the French on their level of knowledge of the new General Regulations for the Protection of Personal Data (GDPR) which entered into force in May 2018. The aim of the GDPR is to increase the protection of personal data, in particular by granting new rights to individuals. As seen in the graph, 45 percent of the participants did not know what the GDPR was. From those who did state their knowledge about the regulation, 12 percent knew exactly what it entailed whereas 43 percent did not.
