As of September 2019, around 96 percent of Peruvians living in urban areas with active profiles on social networks were on Facebook. Meanwhile, approximately 85 percent stated they had a WhatsApp account and twelve percent said they were on Twitter. Still, more than one third of people recently surveyed in Peru stated that they do not use any social network.
