In a survey conducted in 2019 in the Asia Pacific region, regarding the importance of research impact while choosing a university degree, 34 percent of the respondents in Shanghai stated the research impact of a university was one of the most important factors to consider when choosing a university degree. In comparison, 26 percent of respondents in Taipei stated a university's research impact was one of the most important factors to consider while choosing a university degree in 2019.
