In 2023, the size of the planted area for oil palm in Sarawak was approximately 1.62 million hectares, a slight increase compared to 2021. Most of the palm oil plantations in Malaysia was found on Peninsular Malaysia, followed by Sarawak and then Sabah. Malaysia is the world's second-largest producer and exporter of palm oil.
