In 2022, the number of sleep disorder cases registered in Spain amounted to more than 4.1 million, up from around 3.9 million cases recorded a year earlier. Reported sleep disorder cases showed an increasing trend during the period analyzed. Moreover, a study conducted in 2020 found that nearly three out of ten Spanish women aged 65 or older consumed anxiolytics, tranquilizers, or sleeping drugs.
