The findings of a survey by Ipsos in 2019 revealed that being competent was considered the most important factor that could help women in Sweden getting ahead in their careers. The second major component for the success of women was considered to be her qualifications, while both confidence and never giving up ranked third on the list. Women's appearances was not a considered a major success factor, but compared to opinions on what helps Swedish men to get ahead, good looks was actually deemed twice as important for women.
